Summer of LACK 2016

June 7, 2016 By Lack Lustre

Summer of LACK gigsThings are hotting up. It’s time to stoke the BBQ, sling some beer in the fridge and prepare yourselves for a summer of LACK.

That’s right sLACKers! LACK are heading to a venue (hopefully) near you.

There are a number of dates confirmed and more to come soon – if your area isn’t represented let your favourite venue or local bands know that we’re looking to play and support your neighbourhood’s live music scene 🙂

We’re kicking things off with the (in)famous Punk Rock BBQ at the Brixton Windmill on June 26th, and then play the first night of the excellent Cerberfest in Luton on July 1st which leads on to more dates in July including Horsemeat Sandwich which is hosted in the Sin Bin at the Plough and Harrow, Leytonestone, and a Skateboard competition in Flitwick.

We’re working on the gaps in August and early September but LACK is already confirmed for Stow Festival again this year. This is always a great event.

Although not strictly summer, October sees us at the renowned Fiddler’s Elbow in Camden with the Dean Gaffney band and Dear Hero.

Keep checking our gig page and Facebook for more shows and daftness.

Again – let your local venues and promoters know that we’re up for it – we love a road trip!

See you soon.

LACK Amersham ArmsThe LACK lads really enjoyed themselves and were really happy to have played such a great venue with so much history.

A huge shout out to Kelly for organising the night and the lovely folk of Echoic who actually hung out and chatted with the lads.

Hopeful the three amigos will be back there soon.

LACK on TBFM’s Squatter Spot ahead of Metal 2 The Masses London 2016

November 16, 2015 By Lack Lustre

squatter spotFirst off, thanks to all of you who stayed up on a school-night to listen to The Squatter Spot on TBFM last night, Sunday November 15th.

We, of course, know that you all have lives, families and other priorities which may have prevented you from tuning in to the mighty TBFM for a couple of hours so please see below for the podcasted version which you can play as many times as your little heart desires – whenever is more convenient for you.

If you haven’t got 2 hours to spare – fast forward to the 1:39:30

See, we do care!

The Squatter Spot on TBFM Online (15-11-2015 M2TMLDN2016 Heat 1 Preview) by Squattermadras on Mixcloud

Jay was in the chatroom during the show and reports back that there was plenty of love shown for all of the bands in next week’s heat. Jay goes on to say:

There were guys from Gabriel and Dying Vision in the chatroom and everyone was very supportive of each other. Mick Monsta also dropped by to wish us all good luck. There was a great vibe in there and I am sure that all that positivity will be present at Nambucca next week. As we said last night – we’re all in this together, no matter who wins. All of the bands that I’ve checked out in our, and all the other heats, are scarily talented so whichever gigs you manage to get to, you are guaranteed to leave with a big ol’ grin on your face.”

Click the podcast above and listen to the whole show. Thanks to Paul ‘DJ Squatter’ McMonnies for the time and everything.

October 5, 2015 By Lack Lustre

Oxjam flyerLACK has had an amazing run of gigs recently, the last two going remarkably well.

The Stow Festival show at Pulse studios was as full as it could get with people resorting to climbing on the furniture in order to get a view. It was a hot and sticky night for all the right reasons.

Beer was consumed from cans stashed in Cost Cutter bags and everyone seemed to have a great night.

LACK at Windmill BrixtonMore recently the LACK lads were on the line-up for Alex’s (Wonk Unit) Punk Rock BBQ. This was the final instalment of the monthly music and munchies gatherings and it was as popular as ever. There was a great vibe at the venue and everyone supported everyone else.

Oxjam Islington

The next adventure for LACK is the Oxjam all-dayer where music takes over Islington on October 17th.

It’s back to the famous Hope and Anchor venue for LACK who will be joining an impressive list of bands from all over the country.
